What Are The Statistics That Surround a Cheater?
How likely is it that you will be cheated on and where does it start? If you are curious if someone is going to cheat on you, start your research by examining what went wrong in their past relationships. It is estimated that if someone cheated before, there is a 350 percent chance that they will cheat again, compared to those who have never cheated. In the same study that states that cheaters will cheat again, they found that those who have been cheated on will most likely be cheated on again. However, there are many more alarming statistics about cheaters.
Myths About Cheating Spouses
Popular culture and cheating behavior purported in movies and media can lead someone to believe their spouse is cheating. But the plot points are not entirely accurate. Sometimes, the most obvious signs of a cheater are right in front of our eyes, but other times they are hard to spot.
The misconceptions that surround a cheating spouse can be the assumption that cheating happens during the day, however, too much of a change in someone’s nightly schedule would make a spouse suspicious. In fact, before work, during the day, but rarely at night.
How to Avoid Getting Arrested
Whenever infidelity is involved it is almost always emotionally charged. This can lead to poorly made decisions for the person who has been cheated on. It is important to remember that your name is not Karma. Regardless, the desire for revenge is not worth the legal consequences that will result from any emotionally charged actions. How 2018’s Online Cheating Statistics Compare to 2019
Since 2018, online infidelity has risen amongst men due to the use of dating apps. In fact, a recent study by YouGov found that men are three times more likely than women to use dating apps and websites for casual sex. However, a third of Americans feel that online dating apps and websites killed off what was left of romance.
In YouGov’s study, they discovered that one in six people who are currently dating app users, use the apps to cheat on their partners. Of the number of participants they surveyed, 11% of Millennials said one of the main reasons they’re using a dating app is to cheat on their partner.
The General Social Survey’s collection of data in the last 20 years discovered that infidelity amongst women increased by 40% while male infidelity rates remained steady. However, the number of cheating men is still higher than the number of women who cheat on their romantic partner.
The study states that the number one reason people cheat is sexual dissatisfaction. And while this study does not factor in online infidelity or dating apps, those apps can make it much easier for cheaters to remain anonymous when cheating.
Behaviors Of a Cheater
Despite new information emerging about online dating apps and cheaters, the best indicator someone will cheat on you is their past. One popular quote from Maya Angelou is, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” This means if someone shows you their true colors by cheating on you once, or another partner before, chances are they will do it again.
Dating apps and social media apps like Snapchat add extra temptation like a dessert table at an all-you-can-eat buffet. For some, the food on their plate isn’t enough, and they must have more and extra sweets on the side.
The biggest indicator in addition to a cheater’s past behavior is how willing they are to own up to it. When confronting a cheater about their past, observe whether they downplay their role in ending the relationship, have a history of cheating they don’t fess up to, or refuse to take responsibility for a crumbled relationship. If you notice any of these signs, then it might be time to run.
